Aviation connects people and business worldwide and makes it possible to overcome unimaginable distances in the shortest possible time. However, this form of mobility needs to be reconciled with the need for noise protection. This was the topic of the ZAL Discourse - Silent Journey. In their fascinating lectures, Dr. Lothar Bertsch from DLR and Jan Eike Hardegen from Hamburg Airport, offered an insight into the world of noise emission and reduction in aircraft design. During the lectures, the numerous questions and a stimulating discussion reflected the level of audience interest and the extreme relevance of the topic. At the close of the ZAL discourse, a get-together gave the participants an opportunity to network.
