After the success of their panel in the official program of South by Southwest, one of the most sought-after festivals in the USA, ZAL and Hamburg Aviation are coordinating a contribution on the topic "My Colleague is a Robot: The Blue Collar Future?" for the SXSW 2020 (16-22 March)

Robot - colleague or competitor?

In their future scenarios, well-known films and series such as Matrix, I Robot, Ex Machina, Black Mirror and Westworld raise concerns about the progress of robotic technologies, which are reflected in automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. In 2019, however, it is not the fear of robots rebelling against humanity that is in the foreground, but rather the fear of being replaced at work by the intelligent machine. According to experts, however, it is not necessary to become machine breakers. On the contrary, man and machine already complement each other in efficient cooperation and will continue to do so in the future.

The Hamburg panel at the SXSW will address the ethical questions that go along with this: How can we ensure that humans and robots do not compete with each other? What happens during remote monitoring at work? And how can human creativity and machine learning be combined to benefit each other? Vote here for the Hamburg Panel on Monday, August 5th!
